THICK YOGA MATS – ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
A thick yoga mat brings additional support and comfort to your yoga practice. Thick yoga mats are ideal for those
who need to take the pressure of their knees, wrists and ankles. Thick yoga mats tend to be upwards of 5mm (a
regular yoga mat is around 3mm). The extra cushion is perfect for hatha or slower styles of yoga and can be a
great way to build up the confidence of a yogi without any pressure on the body or joints.
For dynamic yoga or more complex poses, a regular yoga mat and yoga blocks are a better choice. The
thickness and stickiness make it easier to balance and ground down during challenging poses or a faster flow.
Throughout your yoga journey, it is likely your preferences on yoga mat will adapt along with your confidence
and skill level. Thick yoga mats are perfect for easing into the yoga experience, or becoming reacquainted after
some time away from the mat!
